FINISHED!!!

21 06 2010

Wow, Poss’ quilt is now finished!! I have loved making it & am looking forward to making the next one soon.

The quilt was made from fabric my sister gave me about 2 years ago for Christmas. I loved the material so much but had no idea what to use it for. That was until I found out there was a little Poss being carefully crafted inside my belly. The quilt has two special memories behind it as not only is the material from someone I love but it’s also my first quilt!

Enjoy /*

Owl redesigned

5 06 2010

This little owl started off looking a little strange………..

He’s beak was too long & all in all just didn’t look right so……

He got a facelift & I inserted a bell so now he jingles. LIttle Sugalove arriving in just a few weeks now has a cute little jingling owl /*

Presents from Aunty Susan

The creative streak runs in the family!  Received a parcel in the post from Fiji via Australia. You did a beautiful job Susan & I am sure the little one is going to love all his pressies as much as I do!

Waterproof bag

2 06 2010

I am sure there are enough occasions in which this little waterproof bag will come in handy. I made it for our little one which is due in oh my gosh 6? ……. SIX weeks!!!!! Hooray!!

This little bag is multifunctional. I thought I could store creams, oils & or whatever else he might need in it, also as I said it’s waterproof & I have also sturdily attached a little bell to the zip to keep him amused during change time etc.

Eco-friendly baby!

29 05 2010

I found this book  on my search for educating myself in making our bub as eco-friendly as possible. We will do what we can & try & bring our little one up being aware of the world & how we can make a difference.

Thanks Debbie for your great book & blog. Helpful hints are always welcome!

So, I came up with what I thought was a good idea. Here it goes….

Why not send a postcard from somewhere you’re not? These can be postcards you have stashed away somewhere from places you have been, or because we all love recycling & reusing you could also reuse an old postcard that someone has sent you. Just stick paper or card to the written on side & write your new pal a message & send away. I will read people’s profiles so if I see that you do not keep to your swaps I may not let you join. & of course I have nothing against newbies! We all have to start somewhere.

a few kicks & punches!

26 05 2010

so our little one is on a roll. A day of kicking & punching me from the inside. It’s only 7 weeks to go & how I can’t wait. As wierd and nice (hmmmm wrong word there) as it feels having something moving around inside, I just can’t wait to meet our little one.

It’s funny & of course natural that everyone keeps asking the same 3 questions….

1. when are you due?

2. do you know the sex?

3. what name have you chosen?

ok so the first two are easy enough to answer but hey we don’t know his name yet & please stop asking. we are close to making up some totally random name & saying that. Oh gosh how funny some people’s reactions could be!

My husband’s mum asks us at least once when ever we see or speak to her. I think she keeps asking just so that she can have towels or some other random baby stuff made up with his name on them. It would be quite funny if she was told a random name & then did get stuff made up. Oh how evil we are. The poor little boy will suffer though ‘cos i am sure he would be asking in years to come  why he has towels etc with some other boys name on them. Lucky for him we would never do this/*

Here’s to the day our little one has a name & people can stop asking us & then ask him!

outdoor table cover

23 05 2010

Ok, so I was getting a little bit frustrated with all this rain & our new table always getting wet. Before we even get to use it I guessed it was going to be trashed. So………… yes of course I had to come up with some kind of cover for it! Sugalove got to work with the sewing machine & designed a table cover made from an old shower curtain. Oh how I love a light bulb moment!!

This table cover can now be used to not only protect the table from the rain but can also be used as a cover to protect the table from Sugalove’s creative mind outdoors. No more paint accidentally spilt on the table or who knows what else/* Happy am I!

May 24, hmmmmm, i thought it was going to work but I had to go back to the drawing board. The strong wind ended up whisking this great idea right off the table. So……… i had to sew elastic on to the ends to keep it on. BUT…..waah laah, it has now withstood heavy rain & wind & it stayed put /* Happy again!
